Myocardial Infarction Following Transmural Extravasation of Contrast Medium during Left Ventricular Cineangiography
An instance of accidental injection of contrast medium into the wall of the left ventricle during retrograde cineangiocardiography is described. The transmural extravasation led to myocardial infarction from which the patient made an uneventful recovery. The mode of occurrence of this complication during selective cineangiocardiography and measures for its prevention are discussed.
