Reduction of Experimental Renal Hypertension by Kidney Perfusion
Normal kidneys were transplanted to the neck of 15 dogs with experimental renal hypertension. In 6 a reduction of blood pressure of 52 mm. Hg (32-102) took place during the first 2 hours of perfusion. It is hypothesized that renin or angiotonin in minute amounts impairs, blunts or frustrates the normal blood pressure reducing function of the kidney.
