We read with great interest the recent article from Gammie et al1 reporting on the early results of a new device conceived for transapical mitral valve repair (MV). The manuscript presents interesting and novel data, but unfortunately lacks some important concepts that need to be highlighted. The authors did not mention that transapical off-pump echo-guided mitral valve repair with neochord implantation has been already successfully utilized by different European groups since 2014.
