We have carefully read the article “Regional Systems of Care Demonstration Project: American Heart Association Mission: Lifeline STEMI Systems Accelerator,” which presents the main results of a nationwide initiative to improve ST-segment–elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI) management and reperfusion.1 Emergent treatment of STEMI with primary angioplasty has clearly been established as the reperfusion strategy of choice, but its generalization requires many medical and nonmedical resources that involve local and regional organizations. The Lifetime STEMI Systems Accelerator demonstrates that resources and plans can be implemented broadly and might drive results nationwide,1 and local and national governments should be …
