We read with interest the article of Vasan et al,1 who showed that carriers of non-O blood groups have a substantially higher risk of developing venous thromboembolism (VTE) compared with subjects with blood group O. Although this finding is discreetly innovative, because many other studies reported similar evidence in the past,2 the conclusions of the study are somehow intriguing.
