We read with great interest the study by Di Biase et al1 comparing ablation versus amiodarone for treatment of persistent atrial fibrillation (AF) that demonstrated the superiority of ablation in restoring sinus rhythm in patients with heart failure and an implanted device.
The authors should be congratulated for answering this important clinical question regarding the optimal treatment of AF in this very challenging patient population.
