Response to Letter Regarding Article, “Association of Leukocyte Telomere Length With Circulating Biomarkers of the Renin-Angiotensin-Aldosterone System: The Framingham Heart Study”
We would like to thank Dr Huzen and colleagues for their suggestion. Indeed, we are conducting several additional analyses relating telomere length to other markers of the renin-angiotensin-aldosterone system and related pathways, including relating telomere length to measures of left ventricular hypertrophy. We deemed it beyond the scope of the original article1 to present a comprehensive analysis of multiple phenotypes and chose to focus on direct markers of the renin-angiotensin-aldosterone system as reflected by circulating biomarkers.
