Correction
,In the article by Jeppesen et al that appeared in a previous issue of the journal (Circulation. 1998;97:1029–1036), a line was dropped out of a sentence in the middle of the left column of page 1029. The complete sentence should read: TG and HDL-C are closely associated both statistically and metabolically, making it difficult to evaluate the distinct roles of TG and HDL-C in IHD in standard multivariate analysis.1–3
In the article by Hennekens et al that appeared in a previous issue of the journal (Circulation. 1998;97:1095–1102), two errors occurred. On page 1098, at the beginning of the second paragraph, left column, the word antioxidant was spelled incorrectly. The complete sentence should read: With respect to antioxidant vitamins, four large-scale randomized trials of beta-carotene supplementation have been completed.21–24 On page 1100, at the beginning of the third complete paragraph, left column, the word becomeas should be become. The complete sentence should read: With continued research, it seems likely that some environmental factors, including atherosclerotic, thrombotic, and inflammatory markers, as well as genetic factors, may well become routinely measured as part of the assessment of the cardiovascular risk profile of an individual.
