Those with a positive family history of hypertension had less constriction with increasing doses of tyramine (P=0.011 by repeated measures ANOVA, with df=8 within subjects, df=16 for dose*family history, and df=2 between subjects). In 16% of subjects, family history was unknown.

The first quartile experienced only dilation (10 subjects), the second quartile about 25% constriction maximally, the third quartile about 70% maximally, and the fourth quartile (10 subjects) constricted >98%.
