(Word) (109 KB) Effects of the mcd null mutation on cardiac expression of mCPT1, PPARα and PPARδ. Protein homogenates or total RNA from hearts taken from wild-type (open bars) and mcd-/- (filled bars) mice were subjected to immunoblot analysis using anti-mCPT1 antibody (a) or quantitative real time PCR using specific primers and probes for peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor (PPAR) alpha (pparα; b), or PPAR delta (pparδ; c). Cardiac mCPT1 protein level is expressed as a ratio to actin level and mRNA expression is expressed as a ratio to the housekeeping gene cyclophilin. Values are the mean±SE of n=3-4 hearts in each group.
