Addendum

In this article, we have presented in figure 1 the detection of tryptophan hydroxylase 1 and serotonin receptor 4 (5-HT4) messenger RNA in the mouse heart using semiquantitative RT-PCR. We have been unable to reproduce these results using real-time quantitative polymerase chain reaction (RTQ-PCR) with predeveloped sequence detection reagents specific for mouse tph1 and 5-HT4 receptor (Assays-on-Demand™ Gene Expression Products, Applied Biosystems, Foster City, CA).
